The Rustic Wood Project
LOGO DESIGN, Website Design
I loved working with the Rustic Wood Project, a DIY creative wood workshop in Bethelhem, Pennsylvania, on their logo design! To brand their space where friends and families can book parties to create personalize wood projects, RWP wanted to communicate a sense of authenticity and empowerment.
The hand-drawn font used in the logo promotes a sense of uniqueness, as visitors paint and create their own projects. Since most pieces are personalized with names or initials the “R” initial in the background speaks to placing their own personality on projects. The wood texture brings a sense of empowerment that anyone can work with wood, and is a reminder of the material that started the business. The light colors and soft feel of the design bring a feeling of friendliness, reminiscent of the idea of bonding with friends and family in a creative space.
In the website design, I brought in the wood texture as a background element throughout, and used blocks of color and bold text to highlight the projects and process of RWP’s workshops. The site also includes a Store where visitors can purchase pre-made custom wood decor.
