Madison County Outdoors
As a resident of Madison County, North Carolina, it was a huge pleasure to design the logo for Madison County Outdoors, a sector of the Tourism Development Authority, that acts as a resource for outdoor activities in the county.
It was important to the organization that all three of the county’s towns—Mars Hill, Marshall, and Hot Springs—be represented equally. MCO was also inspired by National Park patches and wanted nature imagery to be at the forefront. The mark incorporates Mars Hill’s mountains, the French Broad River through Marshall, and the Appalachian Trail running through Hot Springs with a leaf-cum-directional arrow. The circle enclosing the mark includes compass notches to tie in hiking and love of the outdoors.
